Fergus Wilson

One million lawsuit for alleged wrongful arrest

A well to do landlord is suing his local Police Authority for wrongful arrest. Fergus Wilson, aged 70, accrued hundreds of properties in the Maidstone and Ashford areas of Kent.

The former maths teacher and his wife purchased just under 1,000 properties with a commercial value of circa £200 million. The portfolio is currently being sold and is a mix of two and three bedroom properties.

In May 2014 Mr Wilson was arrested after one of his tenants made accusations of unwanted attention. Subsequently Mr Wilson was held for 11 hours and was latterly kept on police bail for four months before Kent police dropped their investigations.

Commenting on his arrest Mr Wilson said, "Many of these policeman probably think they can take people off the street and it doesn't matter who you are, but that won't do with me".

"They'll probably try to give me a settlement for as little as possible, but I'm not short of money, I don't care if this goes to court".

In previous news items, published elsewhere, this gentleman forbid his tenants from cooking curries and stated that he would evict single mothers as the rules mean he would have obligations to fix boilers within four days, if they have new born infants.
