Police to seize passports of UK terror suspects

David Cameron and his Tory government have mounted a campaign to wage war against the Jihadist terror threat to Britain.

According to a report in this weeks' Daily Mail, the Prime Minister has promised to 'address gaps in our armoury' to tackle terrorism.

The news comes as Police have been given special powers to seize the passports of terror suspects trying to reach the Jihadist fighters in Iraq and Syria.

Fears that terrorists are planning to 'wreak havoc' on the streets of Britain are growing and the new laws even go as forcing airlines to hand over their passenger lists.

In a strong statement made to the Commons,  David Cameron told MP's that Britain was proud to be an 'open free and tolerant nation' and that tougher laws were needed to face down the threat posed by extremists in Britain.

The PM was keen to clarify that the new measures are nothing to do with Islam, he went on to tell the Commons that 'Islam is a religion peacefully and devoutly observed by over a billion people and one that inspires countless acts of kindness every day'.

The message from Mr Cameron was clear that as the world has been shocked by events this summer in Iraq; there is 'no automatic right' to a British passport.  In a bid to prevent Briton's travelling overseas to join terror groups, the police have been issued with temporary powers to seize the passports of suspects.
