Vibration White Finger Compensation

Formerly known as Vibration White Finger, caused by continued use of industrial equipment, Hand-Arm Vibration is a condition usually associated with long-term users of hand-held power tools.

Also known as Miners White Finger, it was first recognised in 1976 when the tips of miner's fingers turned white after the sustained use of vibrating tools.

Since then employers have had a duty of care to protect their employees from debilitating injuries.

Sufferers' claim their symptoms are caused by prolonged use of a series of vibrating tools like power tools, chainsaws, and pneumatic drills. Contrary to the name the injury can affect the claimant's hands, wrists and arms as well as the fingers.

To spot the early symptoms of Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome otherwise known as HAVS look out for;

 Signs of tingling or numbness in the fingers.

 Some sufferers notice the signs intermittently and sensation may return for a short time.

In others, numbness of the affected areas may be permanent.

If you have been working with power tools for prolonged periods and have spotted the signs of Vibration White Finger, telephone our personal injury experts now on 0800 811 844 for compensation support.
