Coronavirus update

We generally focus on the news items which have a legal element, but in light of the global nature of the recent virus outbreak, we have concentrated on the Coronavirus.

The virus is affecting courts, the property sector, and the legal profession in general, but rather than highlight those issues we have listed, below, the advice provided by the Government and the National Health Service (NHS).

At present the official guidance states that people should only leave their homes for one of the following four essential reasons:

 Shopping for basic necessities, such as food and medicine.
 One form of outdoor exercise such as a walk, run or cycle.
 A medical need for themselves or to assist the vulnerable.
 Travelling to work if such work absolutely can not be done from home.

Furthermore the following list, taken from the NHS website, represents the current guidance aimed at reducing the risk of catching the virus;

 Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. Do this often.
 Use hand sanitiser if soap and water are not available.
 When you cough or sneeze you should cover your mouth and nose (do not use your hands).
 Use tissues, or your sleeve, when you cough or sneeze. Dispose of the tissues and immediately wash your hands.

If your hands are not clean then you should not touch your nose, mouth or eyes for risk of spreading the virus.

Should you require support or advice on any legal matter relating to the Coronavirus please do not hesitate to contact us.
