Woman Punched For Driving Too Slowly

A woman has been punched in the face in a road rage incident sparked because she was driving too slowly.

The altercation happened at a set of traffic lights on Dale Street in Radcliffe, Bury, when a man started beeping his horn at the female victim when the lights turned green.

He then followed her, before getting out of his car at the next set of lights and punching the female in the face. Police say the man, who was around six feet tall, abandoned his wife and children in his car before attacking the woman.

It is understood the female driver managed to write down the accused's number plate after the attack. She is not thought to have suffered serious injury.

The woman, from Ramsbottom, is believed to have been travelling alone when she was assaulted.

Officers manning the GMP Radcliffe Twitter account tweeted:

"Dale Street. Female sat in her vehicle at traffic lights.

"Lights turned to green and driver behind started beeping his horn. At the next set of lights he got out of his car and punched the female in the face. Enquiries ongoing."
