Are School Holidays Causing Divorce?

A new study reported in the Telegraph suggests that school summer holidays cause more strain on relationships that any other time of year.

The report suggests the pressure of balancing work, childcare and the financial stresses (especially in the London area due to higher child care costs) could be to blame.

Other evidence suggests that couples are driven to divorce when they spend more time in each other's company, this being over the summer school holidays, than at any other time of year.

Almost half of parents polled said they experienced increased financial pressure during the school holidays.

Have you reassessed your relationship following the summer break ? If you haven't, your one of the lucky ones!

The legal firm Stowe Family Law have reported their findings. They reported that 18% of parents had reassessed their relationship, considered a divorce or thought about a separation following this break from school.

Almost a fifth of parents polled said they experienced an increase in domestic arguments during the summer months.
