Tuck shop worker sacked by prestigious school

44 year old former tuck shop worker, Gillian Stokes caused £500 worth of damage and attacked a caretaker following her dismissal from the prestigious Shrewsbury School in Shropshire.

Stokes breached her restraining order and entered the school premises, speeding over and performing wheel spins on the very same cricket pitch where Charles Darwin is thought to have played.

The former employee was sacked last year and although she won her recent tribunal hearing for unfair dismissal, returned to the school recently and assaulted a caretaker with a fire extinguisher.

Hearing that Miss Stokes was on the school premises, Caretaker Jonathan Taylor dashed into the corridor where she pushed her former colleague into a wall before swinging the fire extinguisher at him. 

Injuring Mr Taylor's leg as well as causing £500 damage to a wall. Stoves then set off the foam extinguisher off in the Caretakers face from two feet away.

Stokes admitted breaching her restraining order at Telford Magistrates Court yesterday, plus charges of assault and criminal damage.

Reportedly, Miss Stokes won her unfair dismissal case against the school just last month but failed to win her £24,000 claim for compensation.

Paul Nicholas, defending his client commented, "All her offending related to her dismissal from Shrewsbury School last year.  She was at that school for 17 years, it's been a torrid, torrid time for her".
