Hit and Run Parents Appeal for Information

The parents of 15-year-old Rochdale schoolboy Elliot White, who sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car, are appealing for help from the public to trace the driver of the vehicle.

Elliot's left leg was crushed by a silver Volkswagon Golf on Royds Street, Kingsway, on Sunday evening (8 May).

It is believed that a male passenger got out of the car to look at Elliot while he was lying injured in the road, but the man then got back in the car and left the scene.

Elliot is currently in Manchester Royal Children's Hospital with a cage on his leg, and pins holding his bones together. It is thought this process could take up to four months.

Now his parents, Marrieclare and Terry White, are making a public appeal to help trace the driver, in the hope of bringing him to justice.

Dad Terry White, said:

"Elliot is in a bad way now and even has pins holding his leg together, it is hardly a small injury. It beggars belief that someone would do this to him and then just leave him there.

"Whoever did this should be brought to justice. My son has multiple broken bones now and is really suffering. If anyone can help us we will be so grateful."
