British holidaymaker suffers swelling on brain

British holidaymaker Adam Prosser suffered swelling to the brain following an unprovoked attacked by a group of thugs in Bulgaria.

The 27 year old Swansea charity worker was on holiday at the beach resort of Obzor with his 19 year old girlfriend Kayley Harrison when the men brutally attacked him.

A Bulgarian hospital refused to treat Adam because he didn't have his European Health Card to hand despite presenting himself to medics there with blood streaming from ear to ear.

The pair were due to return home to Swansea the following day and as Miss Harrison recalls the events of that night she tells reporters from the Daily Mail how the attack came as they drank in a bar with friends.

"It was the final evening of a fantastic holiday and we were having a drink at another resort with a couple we had met during the week".

As the couple left the bar at around 11.30pm, she tells how four or five men piled onto Adam, punching and kicking him.  The sustained attack continued into the street where Miss Harrison tells how Adam became unconscious for six to seven minutes.

The couple were forced to fly home the following day without getting medical help for Adam and was told by doctors in Cardiff that he was lucky to survive the flight.

Adam was diagnosed with two fractures to his skull and bleeding on the brain by doctors at the University of Wales Hospital in Cardiff on his return home.
