Teenage Girl Suffers Serious Head Injury Outside Nightclub

A teenage girl has suffered a serious head injury after claiming she was thrown out of a London club by staff and pushed into railings outside.

Jodie Hills, 19, sustained a serious head injury after visiting The Venue nightclub in Clifton Rise, New Cross last month. Although she claims to have been pushed by club staff, management say her injuries were caused by her falling and that CCTV showed none of their staff were involved.

Police said no arrests have been made yet but issued the following statement:

"Detectives from Lewisham are investigating after a 19-year-old woman sustained head and facial injuries after being ejected from licensed premises in New Cross in the early hours of Saturday, July 25. The woman was taken by London Ambulance Service to a south London hospital and has since been discharged.

"At this early stage, it is not known how the injuries were caused. Enquiries continue. No arrests have been made."

Miss Hills was taken to hospital and received 28 stitches for a serious cut to her forehead.
