UK Litigation Funder Raises 200 Million Pound for Investment

A leading litigation funder in the UK has raised £200 million through private fundraising to invest in commercial litigation and arbitration.

Therium Capital Management, one of the UK's leading and most active third party litigation funders, has announced £200 million in private fundraising to be invested in large-scale commercial and group litigation, complex disputes and arbitration claims.

Neil Purslow, founder and Chief Investment Officer of Therium, said:

"This landmark deal will position litigation finance as a mainstream asset class and transform the litigation funding market. It is a real vote of confidence in our approach and a strong endorsement of our success to date.

"Our reputation is established as a principal-led funder, offering lawyers direct access to decision-makers. It is our aspiration that more claimants and law firms will now come forward and choose to work with those litigation funders who can deliver consistent results."

Third party litigation funding, which helps cases affected by lack of funding to be pursued, is one of the most significant factors in the current UK legal sector.

Therium is spearheaded by former litigation and corporate lawyers and is one of the founding members of the Association of Litigation Funders. The organisation, which is also represented on the Association for Litigation Funders Board, understands the needs and requirements of legal clients and takes a creative, empirical approach to funding.
