Top lawyer sues for 300,000 after elephant attack

A top lawyer has lodged a writ at London's High Court, suing a safari company and former guide for £300,000, claiming damages for being attacked by a rampaging elephant.

Monte Carlo based Caroline Pratte and her partner Andrew Ness who was himself physically unhurt are claiming compensation from British born safari guide Samuel Grace and Zambia's Lion Camp Lodge.

Caroline suffered multiple fractures and abdominal wounds when the horrific attack happened in 2011.  The Daily Mail reports that she was attacked and gored by the animal while out on a walking safari.

Led by guide, Mr Grace who had been the General Manager of the exclusive lodge for nine years, the accident was witnessed by Caroline's partner Mr Ness who is claiming damages for the trauma caused by the ordeal.

The £400 per night luxury Lion Camp Lodge is nestled in Zambia's biggest National Park where guests sleep in four poster beds overlooking wildlife plains.

The High Court writ states that 'Ms Pratte was under the care, supervision and direction of Mr Grace and his employers when she was attacked by the elephant on October 23, 2011.

Mr Grace has since returned to England following Ms Pratte's accident and is now working for an International safari company.
