Police Searching for Intended Targets of Arson Attack

Police are keen to locate two men who they believe were the "intended targets" of an arson attack at a property in Scunthorpe.

The arson occurred at a house on Frodingham Road, at around 10.25pm on Wednesday, February 8. A woman was rescued from the property and is currently receiving hospital treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Local residents claim the blaze was started when a petrol bomb was thrown through the back of the property.

Detective Chief Inspector Nicki Miller who is overseeing the incident, said:

"Our investigation is continuing and as we make progress we can confirm that an amount of accelerant was present at the scene and forensic enquiries are ongoing. We continue to treat the incident as a priority and our team is pursuing a number of lines of enquiry.

"Through enquiries, we have information to suggest that two men were seen leaving the property prior to the arrival of police. We believe that these men may have been the intended targets and we are keen to locate them to confirm their safety. I would urge those men to get in touch with us as soon as possible."
